Evergreen Panda Restaurant
About This Spot
Nestled just off White Road in San Jose, Evergreen Panda Restaurant greets you with a sense of straightforward, no-frills charm that feels familiar and inviting in its own way. This is the kind of local spot where the focus is clearly on what’s happening in the kitchen rather than elaborate dining rooms or table service. The pace here is unhurried but purposeful, with orders carefully prepared to bring out bright, fresh flavors that resonate beyond the typical Chinese takeout experience.
There’s a comforting rhythm to the space, one that mirrors the warm, satisfying smells wafting from the open kitchen. Even though Evergreen Panda operates largely as a to-go destination, the atmosphere holds a quiet energy—an appreciation of carefully crafted dishes made to order and served up with friendly efficiency. It’s a destination for those who value keen attention to flavor and generous portions over fancy presentation or formal dining.
What stands out most here is the culinary experience—whether it’s the satisfying crunch and sweet notes of the honey walnut shrimp or the rich, savory depth of Peking short ribs, each plate reveals a dedication to balance and freshness. The menu offers a comforting array of traditional favorites with subtle twists, inviting exploration through bold spice, garlicky accents, and the comforting familiarity of classic wok-seared noodles and fried rice. Patrons often find themselves ordering just a bit extra, drawn by generous portions that make this place as practical as it is delicious.
Evergreen Panda carries a subtle, authentic vibe that speaks to busy locals who appreciate reliable, honest food. The slight wait time reflects the fresh preparation, rewarding patience with dishes that deliver satisfying flavors without rushing. It’s a place for those who come hungry, ready to take food home or grab a comforting meal on the go—where culinary care is evident in every bite and the everyday becomes something pleasantly memorable.

Love it fresh made to order..... $8 on average for rice and meat combo... it takes about 20 mins for them to cook the food but its worth it since its fresh... you can also ask for extra meat its about $2.50

4 stars on serv and atmosphere...no lunch seating and counter service...long waits on orders...but the food kills!!! Amazing flavors, fresh, really is delicious. Just that alone trumps the lower scores for an overall 5 star. Must try place and the price is right. Peking Ribs and thank you.

Fast service, Delicious food and LARGE portions for a great price. My favorites so far out of everything I’ve tried is the Honey Walnut Shrimp, the Salt&Pepper Ribs and the Beef Chow Mein.

I think their food is the best in San Jose. Don’t take my word for it, go try them yourselves. You will not be disappointed. It’s a to go only restaurant, so don’t plan on eating inside there.
